Abstract:

This work contains two quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSARs) modeling chemical inhibition of nitrification, one for heterocyclic compounds and one for acetylenic materials. Both regression models are robust and predict with satisfactory accuracy the behavior of materials of known inhibition characteristics not in the model. The model is also applied to several pesticides, many of which appear able to strongly inhibit nitrification.
