Abstract:

The response of a reinforced concrete building subjected to earthquake loading has been obtained on a personal computer using the finite-element code STARDYNE. For preliminary design, the building was modeled as a series of concentrated masses lumped at the floor levels. For final design, a more refined finite-element model was used to more accurately predict localized responses.
