Abstract:

Applications of vectorization and the parallel processing technique of multitasking in the elastic nonlinear analysis of building frameworks are presented. The proposed algorithm is implemented using a Cray Y-MP C90 multiprocessor. Code performance is measured and evaluated. A simple method is proposed to determine the number of processors to be used for the analysis based on the partitioning algorithm utilized. A high rise framework subjected to nonproportional loading is analyzed and the results are discussed.
