Abstract:

The City of Wichita, Kansas will require additional water supply sources to meet projected future water demands. A study of options identified a supply plan with integrated use of local surface and groundwater sources as the most economical alternative. This supply plan includes using excess surface water discharges to artificially recharge a local aquifer. A computer simulation model of the proposed supply system was developed to demonstrate its feasibility.
