Abstract:

The Tatara Bridge now under construction has the main span length of 890m which will be the world's longest in cable-stayed bridges when completed. Except for certain lengths of prestressed concrete girders in side spans, all parts of its superstructure are in steel. This paper describes the main features of the Tatara Bridge and the results of specific studies conducted in relation to its design.
