Quantification of Uncertainties in a Water Quality Model with Application to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta

by Gregory Gartrell, Contra Costa Water District, Concord, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulic Engineering

Abstract:

A methodology is described that allows a quantitative verification of water quality models. The methodology provides a quantitative analysis of model accuracy that takes into account different regimes encountered in the model. A type of conditional sampling is employed that requires a record for comparison that is sufficiently long to include a reasonable number of events of interest.
