Abstract:

A follow-up of the morphological evolution of Cote d'Ivoire Atlantic littoral for two yeas, from nine beach profiles between Grand-Bassam and Jacqueville showed a seasonal evolution of that morphology. In high energy periods (November, December) there is an accumulation of sand. A quantification of sand movement on the strand zones, allowed to distinguish erosion zones (also called 'erosion cells') show a lateral movement along the Ivorian coastline.
