Abstract:

This paper considers management of habitat quality in coastal zones. It highlights contradictions between modern needs and past modes of development, including industrialization, agrarian development, and urbanization, emphasizing that prevention of future habitat degradation is associated with education and public awareness, as well as new or revised local legislation governing unurbanization, thus reducing cumulative effects of man on aquatic habitats.
