Abstract:

Use and characteristic of Information Systems in the organizations has been changed significantly. These systems are not functionally oriented any more and they do not have any bias toward a specific problem or function of the organization. In the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry these systems needs to be designed in a way to satisfy requirements of all participants from different disciplines as well as during life cycle of the project. Another important aspect of the information systems is its strategic value in any organization. Design and implementation of these systems requires thorough review of the enterprise resources, and needs and consideration of strategic plan of the organization. The objectives of this paper are to review Construction Information Management, and present a model for implementation of an integrated system for design and construction of facilities.
