Abstract:

The last three decades of the scientific and business market have been signed by information revolution. In construction, large amounts of information are manipulated and consulted. Information is massive and is typically cross-referenced. By the time of consultation, information is usually hard to retrieve and it is tedious to access all related items. To overcome these problems. intelligent systems for information retrieval can be developed by integrating Hypermedia and Artificial Intelligence technologies. These systems provide the user with guidance and recommendations during the process of retrieving information. An intelligent retrieval system for conditions of contract, SmartDoc. is presented in this paper to illustrate the concepts of an intelligent retrieval system application in construction.
