Abstract:

This paper describes the design of a computer system, called the Total Quality Management system (TQM), to integrate a Quality Assurance (QA) management system with time and resource management techniques for a construction project. The design is based on modelling projects as a hierarchical structure of activity networks. Using this model the requirements of QA and traditional project management may be integrated in a way that is practical for use on a construction site. The design is capable of implementation on PCs.
