Abstract:

The paper describes the structure of a system being developed to make available a wide range of types of information to assist people in the construction industry. State-of-art search techniques are used to provide the user with easy access to codes of practice, design guides, bibliographical information, product information, programs, directories, graphics, etc. A special type of Procedural Guide is described which sets out relevant information on particular topics in a way that takes advantage of the machine processing.
