Abstract:

The heterogeneity of tools and their data models in civil engineering is a well known problem. Next generation database technology seeks to offer solutions for the integration of the design processes of architects, civil engineers etc. by integrating data in a logical data model. We recently started a project in which we are developing a kernel for the modeling of an integrated semantic data model, which should support a description of the whole construction process.
