Abstract:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has promulgated regulations that require the monitoring of groundwater samples at landfill sites. The analytical data resulting from sample analysis must be evaluated using statistical analysis procedures. Computerized database management approaches are necessary in order to efficiently store, retrieve, manipulate, interpret and generate reports on the data. The effective administration of a groundwater database for landfills necessitates a basic understanding of a variety of environmental science disciplines.
