Abstract:

Numerous analytical and experimental investigations have been carried out in the past to study the complex dynamic problem of the response of a bridge deck to a moving vehicle. However, the governing parameters have not been clearly identified. The studies reported here attempt to identify such parameters through the analysis of the response of simplified beam and plate models of the deck.
