Abstract:

Computers have played an important role in the construction industry, particularly in estimation and cost control. With increasing number of personal computers, and software packages in estimation, and cost control, now available off the shelf, the million dollar question remains, will they perform? The growing pains of making the decision to buy the right software package, have traditionally been difficult, both for the estimators, and the senior management/CEO's.
