Abstract:

A building design system has no bridge the gap between the complexity of the design information, resulting from the artifact itself, the large amount of laws, regulations, and restrictions, and the specialized views of the various experts involved in the design process, and the designer's capability to grasp all aspects of it. Within the Design Navigator project we introduce an integration platform for the experts based on an object-oriented database. The OODBS will be enhanced by a constraint handling mechanism.
