Abstract:

The structural analysis process can be modeled in two separate steps: definition of structural systems and analysis of a discrete numerical model; the transmission between these two models can be handled automatically. In this paper an object oriented prototype program is presented in which the system definition, the mesh generation, the numerical analysis and the visualization of the results are based on a common uniform data structure. A procedure for symmetrically coupled FE and BE method is given for analysis of 2D-structural systems, including some hints on error control.
