Abstract:

The deformation and vibration of bridge will be developed due to the moving vehicles, especially for railway bridge. The dynamic deflections in the points under each wheel are called secondary track irregularity. In the bridge which has several spans with same length, or in the long span bridge with a series of flexible stringers, a periodic secondary track irregularity will be developed. In this paper, a procedure for estimating the response of the bridge and vehicle system is developed, which is dependent on a numerical scheme, and the effect of the secondary irregularity is studied in some detail.
