Abstract:

The term 'INFORMATION INTEGRATED CONSTRUCTION (IIC)' was coined to describe the integration of construction information and practice through computer technology. We define information not only as measurement data, but also as expertise and construction data collected from previous projects. To achieve the automation of construction management, we must develop intelligent systems which will be able to handle the vast amounts of information collected at construction sites. Information must be collected, stored, manipulated, and presented in a usable format. We use three kinds of technologies to deal with this information: observational construction, knowledge based systems, and technical data bases. This paper focuses on the development and utilization of the IC card labor management system at the construction site and the role they will play in the future.
