Abstract:

On a 60-m-long test stretch in the course of the construction of the Munich Subway the single-shell jointless shotcrete method was employed. In this case the standard cross section of side walls and roof consists of a 15-cm-thick bracing layer made of shotcrete, which is statically active in the final stage, and of two shotcrete layers of 10 cm thickness each. The shotcrete lining of 35 cm total thickness bears all stress acting on the construction. The paper focuses on the shotcrete technology, the sandwich behavior and the tightness of the structure.
