Abstract:

An insolated intersection is usually controlled by either signals or stop signs. The choice between these two trafic control devices requires an engineering study which typically examines the warrants contained in the Manual on Uniform Traffic control Devices, the level of service estimated from the Highway Capacity Manual, as well as other factors. The subject of this paper is a new scheme which presents all of the pertinent information superimposed graphically on the same plane.
