Abstract:

The purpose of this guideline is the standardization of quality and a uniform procedure for the production and testing of shotcrete from the technical and engineering point of view. In 1989 Part 1 of this Guideline on Shotcrete was published. It contains procedures for all standard applications of shotcrete in Austria. An English version of Part 1 is also available. Part 2 of the guideline, which contains the specific test procedures for shotcrete is in preparation. The limited application range of certain products, such as water glass, powder accelerators, etc., are described in the Guideline. The report states that the application of shotcrete is Austria is getting more frequent and varied. One of its main fields of application still is the stabilization of excavation surfaces in tunneling. But shotcrete for the repair of damaged buildings, bridges and sewers is also gaining in importance.
