Abstract:

Statewide nonpoint source (NPS) management strategies are necessary because there are several different levels of authority involved, and the priority of action needs to be related to the particular circumstances of each state. Ultimately, nonpoint source controls must be related to the improvement in water quality, but most NPS control measures will be technology-based, at least in the near future.
