Abstract:

A new device for in-flight calibration of mass spectrometer is presented. At a ground station command the calibrator introduces a constant and reproducible amount of deuterium into the ion source of the mass spectrometer. The molecular gas used makes it possible to get some information on dissociation and adsorption-desorption processes on the spacecraft surface in outer space conditions.
