Impact Craters on Cosmic Dust: Do Damage to the Spacecraft

Abstract:

The discovery and study of impact crater on cosmic dust to understand the overall micrometeoroid environment and space engineering requirement are important. In this paper, we attempt to only summarize the significant contributions to date on morphology and physical properties of the impact crater, and indicate that impact destructions of cosmic dust particles in space will damage to the spacecraft. The impact spattered, covered and molten structures of cosmic dust suggested that particles have very high motion velocity and quite strong kinetic energy in space.
