Abstract:

Mars rover is one of the principal technical means intended for studying the surface of Mars. The first Mars rover was delivered to the Mars surface in 1971 and was designed for studying of soil physical and mechanical properties. According to the project 'Mars' being developed in the USSR it is foreseen the rover weighting 75 kg for studying during 1 year the surface in the area of landing. The basic scientific tasks are to obtain surface pictures, analyze chemical and mineralogical compositions of soil, determine organic components and carry out geophysical investigations of soil thickness.
