Part of: Roller Compacted Concrete III

Abstract:

As there is no widely recognized standard for the preparation of laboratory test specimens for roller compacted concrete (RCC) mixtures, criteria for developing such a standard are listed. The paper describes and compares several methods that have been used to prepare specimens for completed RCC projects. Laboratory testing by the authors and investigation by others using high frequency vibrating hammers for this purpose are presented and analyzed. Recommendations for developing a standard preparation procedure that can be used for all types of RCC mixtures are presented.
