Abstract:

This paper presents a concise and proven mix design process. It covers all the steps necessary to produce a good roller compacted concrete (RCC) mix design for mass and structural applications, and presents procedures for criteria selection, materials proportions, trial batching, and related testing. Also discussed are field observations that may necessitate mix design adjustments. A detailed example of the mix design procedure is presented.
