Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: World Marina '91

Abstract:

The rack storage marina industry has evolved from providing warehouses for boats under 25 feet, to being on the threshold of the hospitality industry with club-like facilities, serving customers with boats up to 50 feet. The boat rack storage market, market segmentation, positioning and pricing of services are discussed, as well as the technical options and considerations in selecting equipment for these facilities. Finally, there is a discussion of new concepts of dry storage which may be seen in the coming decade.
