Abstract:

This proceedings, Ground Water in the Pacific Rim Countries, consists of papers presented at the Symposium held in Honolulu, Hawaii, July 23-25, 1991. These papers discuss such topics as: 1) Advances in atoll hydrogeology; 2) well hydraulics; 3) saltwater intrusion; 4) ground water flow modeling; 5) artificial recharge; 6) ground water management and the island environment; and 7) ground water quality protection. In relation to these broad topics, specific subjects such as ground water in permafrost in northeast China, seawater intrusion control in Los Angeles County, chloride sources in a California coastal aquifer, and managing plate-boundary aquifers of New Zealand are discussed.
