Abstract:

An aspirator-blower type aerator was designed and tested successfully for small lake application. The experiment showed that significant amount of air flow can be generated by the aspirator effect alone. For a given water flow rate, there is a maximum air flow rate beyond which flow becomes unstable. A unique relationship between the normalized dissolved oxygen concentration and the normalized time and between the oxygen transfer efficiency and the normalized time were found.
