Abstract:

The paper presents some geomorphological features and erosion problems of the Romanian coast. We also reveal wind and wave climates. General characteristics of the sediments on the entire littoral are analyzed and the specific aspects which differentiate two types of shores of the Romanian littoral. Modification caused of the sedimentary transport, in the last years, and the diminuation of the littoral currents load are taken into consideration. Their consequences on beach change and bed contour are sustained by presenting the comparative evolution and rate as well.
