Abstract:

The Pacific Northwest Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Task Force was established in January of 1989 to provide advice to the Secretary of the Department of the Interior (DOI) on issues related to potential OCS oil and gas leasing, exploration and development activities in the Pacific Northwest. This paper describes the evolution of the Task Force, its structure and role, and current status. Additionally, the paper will address President Bush's OCS decisions affecting the Pacific Northwest.
