Abstract:

Physical and numerical model tests were conducted for an idealized, flat-bottom rectangular harbor, entrance channel, and nearshore bathymetry. Bathymetry of the entrance channel and offshore area represent field conditions. Extensive laboratory measurements were collected during a wide variety of regular and irregular incident wave conditions. A finite element numerical model was setup to reproduce the laboratory harbor configuration. The numerical model was run to compare with regular wave tests in the physical model. Preliminary comparisons between physical and numerical model results are presented.
