Abstract:

A boundary element method has been solved to the coupling problem of a two-dimensional tension leg platform interacting with a monochromatic wave train. In the boundary element calculation, the flow field is linearly decomposed into incident and disturbed potentials. The interaction of the flow and structural motion is decoupled by using the kinematic and dynamic boundary conditions on the structural surface, and iterative computation is circumvented. From present numerical results, the energy conservation can be achieved and the solution accuracy is secured.
