Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Water Resources Planning and Management and Urban Water Resources

Abstract:

System engineering provides a double edged sword for those involved in water resources development and management. The tools used in the analysis and development of complex water resource management are similar to tools employed in system engineering of complex systems, while the developments in system engineering provide more powerful tools to use in water resource development and management. In addition, the current shortage of system engineers provide a major new market for the application of the water resource system methods and tools.
