Abstract:

This publication consists of the papers presented at the special sessions of the 1988 ASCE National Conference on Hydraulic Engineering held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, August 8-10, 1988 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Hydraulics Division. These papers describe the contributions made by the Hydraulics Division to the advancement of hydraulic engineering from 1938 to 1988. Topics covered is these special sessions include sedimentation, hydromechanics, tidal hydraulics, surface and ground water hydrology, fluid mechanics, and hydraulic structures. To encourage the continued advancement of hydraulics engineering, recommendations for future research are included in these presentations.
