Abstract:

Finite-element modeling of the incremental construction procedure for mass concrete structures has been used to study the effects of three mechanical properties on thermal stresses. Material parameters from two concrete mixtures with ratios of Class C fly ash to total cementitious materials (by volume) of 0.25 and 0.50 were used in this study. A matrix of analyses were conducted and results were compared.
