Abstract:

The paper discusses the deficiency in the existing theories on suspended concentration profiles which is due to the variations of theories for modeling the velocity profiles. As can be easily noticed in applying Rouse's equation, the value of the Von Karman coefficient affects the results. The new model discussed in this paper introduced a new term which is similar to the Karman constant but is used in modeling sediment stresses. More research is needed to shed light on this parameter and to obtain better understanding of its impact on the concentration profiles.
