Abstract:

This paper provides an overview of the more significant impacts of agricultural drainage in California, and describes the role of the State's Agricultural Drainage Water Management Loan Program (Loan Program) in addressing the problems. The Loan Program has been used to finance a wide range of drainage water treatment and disposal projects, including selenium removal, deepwell injection, evaporation ponds, and groundwater cleanup.
