Effect of Saline Irrigation Water on Tree Growth

Abstract:

A random block experiment using three types of soil, five different qualities of irrigation water, and three popular windbreak trees was conducted to measure the effects of soil type and water quality on tree survival and growth. The results show Prosopis to be the most salt tolerant and heavy soil being a better medium for survival and growth. Prosopis can be irrigated with water up to 8,600 ppm (TDS).
