Sprinkler System Design for Frost Protection

by R. D. von Bernuth, Univ of Tennessee, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Irrigation and Drainage

Abstract:

Both undertree and overtree systems for frost protection by sprinkling are currently being used. The criteria based on experimental results and theoretical modeling have been reviewed for overtree systems and a method of selecting the application rate is presented. Experimental data for an undertree system compared to identical overtree system is presented, and criteria for design for undertree systems are presented.
