Abstract:

The topic of this work is to assess the effect of minor actinide (Cm, Am, Np) removal from fission products before vitrification on the radiological impact of a vitrified waste geological repository. The data used for this study are those of the granite formation of Auriat, in the center of France. These data are those which were used in the granite option for the ECC PAGIS project (Performance Assessment of Geological Isolation System)1 Let's remark that the Auriat site does not belong to the sites which are currently investigated by the French National Agency for radioactive waste management (ANDRA) in order to select one of them to create an underground laboratory, then enventually a repository.
