Abstract:

In April 1989, the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM) Integration Branch completed major demonstration of the Systems Integration Modeling System (SIMS). That system is designed to provide an analytic tool to support decisions relating to alternative Federal Waste Management System (FWMS) configurations and operating strategies. This paper will provide a brief overview of SIMS and describe the results of the demonstration, termed SIMS 89/1.
