Abstract:

Key statutes, regulations, and orders that govern the radioactive waste management program are identified. Current and recent regulatory activities are described in the areas of meetings, reports, quality assurance, rulemaking and other regulatory actions. Perspectives are offered on the regulatory process involving the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the State of Nevada. A proposal is made for a collaborative interaction involving all stakeholders in the program.
