Abstract:

Nonpoint source loadings from stormwater runoff are a major contributor of pollutant loadings in many locations. A phosphorus budget is developed for Lake Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ). Lake LBJ receives phosphorus loadings from point and nonpoint sources. The Llano River is the largest unregulated tributary. As an example of the loading associated with a single stormwater runoff event, sampling data are presented describing phosphorus concentrations in the reservoir after influx of runoff from a rainfall event falling in the watershed of the Llano River in July 1988.
