Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Environmental Engineering

Abstract:

The paper reports on a 'Water Quality Control Study' for the City of Lafayette, Louisiana. This paper focuses on the laboratory phase of the project. The City operates two lime softening plants, the North and South plant. Recently problems have been experienced with clogged meters and excessive solids in the water distribution system. Further, the filter media at the North plant was recently replaced as a result of calcification of the media. The effort to solve these problems on a long term basis prompted this study.
