Abstract:

The challenges posed by a large-scale asbestos abatement project are great: providing a safe indoor environment for building tenants and property that is liability-free for the building owner and management firm. However, through a coordinated team effort of the building owner, the management firm, building support staff, the building architect or certified industrial hygienist, and the asbestos abatement contractor, these goals can be successfully met. This paper provides background on the subject and describes the team approach. It also presents a case history of a successful abatement project.
