Some Design Considerations During Construction

by Mark E. Killion, Killion Engineering, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Structural Design, Analysis and Testing

Abstract:

Certain construction failures are discussed with associated design conditions leading to these failures. Some points of interest for engineers involved with construction equipment designs are mentioned. A design criteria is addressed that will permit a safe and not overly conservative design for scaffolds and will also satisfy the design criteria set forth by OSHA.
